Taylor Swift on 'The View' prompts Kanye West apology
Taylor Swift shared with the ladies of "The View" her thought process after Kanye West interrupted her thank you speech at Sunday's Video Music Awards."My overall thought process went something like ... 'Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut,'" she revealed. "'What are you doing there?' And then, 'Ouch,' and then, 'I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"
Althought at the time of the interview Swift said West hadn't reached out personally to her, despite a public apology on Jay Leno Monday night, apparently West finally called her after "The View" aired.
"After the show he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer," reads a statement from "The View." "She has accepted Mr. West's apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private."
On "The View," Swift also added that even though she was "rattled," she found the strength to perform live five minutes after the interruption from supportive artists.
"I never imagined there were that many people looking out for me," she said. "It was really wonderful seeing people out there defending me so I didn't have to."

Later, Swift also treated the audience to two performances: "Fifteen" and her hit "You Belong With Me."
The beginning of "The View" featured clips of Barbara Walter's interview with Patrick Swayze in January, "Patrick Swayze: Last Dance," which re-airs Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10:01 p.m. ET/PT with new footage.
And although this was the second day of Kate Gosselin guest-hosting "The View," much of her drama was pushed to the background, except for a brief interview with Dr. Phil McGraw, who declined to say much about Jon Gosselin's allegations because of confidentiality.
Kate Gosselin, sporting a wave in her 'do, revealed that she finally discussed taking off her wedding ring with her kids, who were concerned about her possibly replacing Jon as their dad and replacing the ring with something that was just as pretty. She also addressed her estranged husband's hurtful words from ABC's "Primetime: Family Secrets" special.
"Of course it bothers me," she said. "Am I going to return the favor? Absolutely not. I never will. I'm a high-road taker."

This played out in a funny
way, west is the villian
and swift is the victim, and
Beyonce turned out to be the
hero giving swift the stage
during her acceptence speech.
You had low class behavior
and high class behavior all
in one place..
I respect the fact that Kanye publicly and privately apologized for his behavior and Taylor was gracious to accept the apology.
What a shame. It's clear that this young man has some unresolved psychological issues regarding his mother's death. Until he resolves them, he will continue to be detested whenever he pulls these sorts of stunts.
This was the biggest scripted sham of all time. It was acted, it was a farce and so fake and people believe it. Pathetic
Well...she did become a home town hero...now everyone is rooting for her...she has a chance to make her career legendary.
