Simon Cowell told Extra that he misses ex-"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul.In his first interview since this whole hullabaloo went down, Cowell told Terri Seymour at Extra that of course he misses Paula Abdul and that the chemistry between the judges is "different" now.
When asked to clarify what he meant, he said, "It's like comparing a carrot to a banana." In my head, I really enjoy hearing his British accent on "bah-nah-nah." Heh.
I'm sure it will be interesting to see how the revolving door of guest judges mesh with the current judges. It should certainly add some spice to my recaps because there should practically be a new judge every episode.

No talent Kara??? Kara is a songwriter and can actually sing!!!! She puts Paula to shame. Paula hate it that Kara has talent that she can show immediately.
Kara has way more talent does way more things than Paula ever did. Do i like her as a judge meh not really but that doesnt mean shes got less talent than Paula.
What better things is Paula off to actually? I haven't see much mention of things other than the guest spot on the Lifetime show. Not much else. This will rival David Caruso and Shelley Long among the dumbest TV departures of all-time.
I will miss Paula. I think each of the three original judges complimented each other and made the show. Regardless of her "talent", I found Kara uninteresting as a judge. And I believe the show will suffer for losing Paula.
He misses her but he sure enjoys that new contract he just signed though. Kara is a no-talent hack! This is the beginningof the demise of AI.
idol needs paula. period.
put kara in as a singer consultant, but that isn't why i watched idol. i loved the holy trinity interaction. now it's blown. last year was bad this year is, well, it's gone.
I agree, they may say they didn't hire Kara to replace Paula but I don't believe them. I didn't like her acting like a mime of Paula (my opinion).
It is the beginning of the end of IDOL. Bringing Kara on was the beginning of the end and now without Paula, I won't even watch it.
I kind of like the idea of having a guest judge each week, but I do think they should have kept Paula and got rid of Kara.
Still believing this is nothing more than part of the publicity stunt before they announce Paula's return. AI does something like this every year. She'll be back by January
