'Saturday Night Live': Did Jenny Slate drop the f-bomb?

jennyslate_snlbikerchick_290.jpgThis is probably not how you want your "Saturday Night Live" career. New cast member Jenny Slate appeared to let the mother of all curse words loose on Saturday.

The slip occurred late in the season premiere during a sketch called "Biker Chick Chat" featuring Slate, Kristen Wiig and host Megan Fox. The sketch had the two of them using the word "frickin'" several times in every sentence, and at one point Slate appeared to slip and use the non-broadcast-approved version of the word instead.

She then pursed her lips, and the camera cut away to Wiig's next line as the crowd let out a bit of nervous laughter. Here's the portion of the sketch with the f-word.

The slip didn't appear in the West Coast broadcast, which seemed to dub an extra "frickin'" over the f-word.

Slate's slip calls to mind a similar incident on the show in 1981, when cast member Charles Rocket said "I'd like to know who the f**k did it" at the end of an episode that featured a running parody of the "Who shot J.R.?" storyline on "Dallas." He was fired soon after that.

When are the adults of this world going to stop using these filthy words on TV? It is time to get over trying to shock viewers. Let's go the other way for a while and try that.

Oh, she said it, alright. The expression on her face, and the ensuing awkward pace told the story. Pretty stupid to try such a tongue twister on live TV, but then the whole skit was pretty stupid anyway.

Oh who cares. It's language. Is anybody truly offended? If you answer yes, then maybe you should be watching the Christian channel instead of SNL.

It's funny that anyone noticed. I couldn't sit through more than 30 seconds of this skit!

Marilyn, you stood up for decency, and I fucking love you for that.

Um,...Marilyn, She wasn't "trying" to shock anyone. She slipped up by mistake. Now go back to bed, It's way past Your bedtime.

I do not see what the big deal is here. Why is it OK for Dennis Franz to show his hairy butt (NYPD Blue) over a decade ago on primetime TV and today it is wrong to hear a pretty girl say the f-word late in the evening when children are most likely asleep anyway?

would the west coast broadcast have included Arizona, i ended up falling asleep during the commercials after weekend update

I don't think she was trying to shock anyone. It slipped out 'coz that's what her character would have said. Big frickin' deal.

ohhhh noooo a dirty word runnnn everybody riot lets boycott america!!! FFS it slipped its not like she said it 234234234 times. Plus the skit was way lame and i bet they lost half of their audience during that skit.
