President Obama: Kanye West is a 'Jackass'

When it comes to the informal world of social media, it's very hard to keep something off the record.On Monday (Sept. 14) night, ABC's Terry Moran Tweeted: "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential."
Wait? Barack Obama, president of the United States of America, did what?
Moran deleted his little bombshell soon after posting it, but not before his million plus followers had a chance to see it. And, as everybody knows by now, nothing can be truly gotten rid of in the electronic age.
According to a statement speedily issued by Moran's employers at ABC, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."Which means: a) No one is disputing Obama made the comment, just that it wasn't meant for publication, and b) ABC reporters are probably going to have to start submitting their Tweets through a dozen editors from now on.
Spoilsports.

That's one of the few things where I agree with the President. Kanye is a jackass.
It does make me sad that such a comment does not really make Obama look much better than Kanye in some ways, but I don't think many of us can deny that we said the exact same thing when we saw or heard about what Kanye did. Can we fault Obama for that? I don't. True, he's in public office and part of his job is to be cognizant of what he says at all times, but again, we all said the exact same thing, didn't we?
awesome. Obama is awesome. he's one of the people. just a normal guy who happens to be really smart and President of the United States.
Can we really say that Obama did a something wrong by saying that 'off the record'? Who knows what we haven't heard about from past 'off the record' interviews from ANY of the past presidents. Its not his fault that someone ratted him out. And Kanye IS a jackass.
"Freedom Of Speech" Pres. Obama is right Kanya is a Jackass, and rude. It is about time we have a president who isn't afraid to exorcise his right to free speech. The tip toe around the truth mentality has got to stop. We have become a nation afraid to offend someone. There are no rules stating that the president can't have an opinion while in office. Wake up America, You sleep for too long.
Its true what he said so anybody that thinks Obama is wrong for saying is a jackass. You know you think the same dang thing too.
Freedom of speech don't start and end with only the people but government officials and presidents as well. I feel he had every right to state his opinion lets us know he's real. And Kanye is a Jackass! Good Job Mr. President!
I'm with Obama all the way on this one, and I'm no Obama supporter. Frankly, he was being kind in his reference to K.W. I think far, far, far worse things about him.
Actually, I don't ever want to *think* about him again, and never want to see his ugly face or hear his crap audio, either. He is dead to me, and as far as I'm concerned, he has killed his career, just like his fellow brotha, Chris Brown, did. Why are these bruthas so out of control? Because they're raging egomaniacs. And boy, do I love their downfall.
Same with me Angel. I actually agree with the president for once. Although, instead of "jackass" I would have used "ugly, unintelligent, untalented, sack of vomit".
