Patrick Swayze will be honored on 'Dancing With the Stars'

patrickswayze_290.jpg"Dancing With the Stars" will celebrate Patrick Swayze's contributions to the show this season.

The reality competition show's first live results show on Sept. 23 will honor the actor, who visited a couple times the first season, reports People.

Swayze, who died Monday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, made a guest appearance to coach friend John O'Hurley on dancing and also showed up for the season's finale.

"He was one of the few people to integrate dance with being an A-list actor," says "Dancing's" executive producer Conrad Green.  "He inspired many people and many of our pros to dance. We want to honor the great moments he's brought to film by getting our dancers to do their interpretation to some music from his films."

That is great that the tribute will be one that has some significance to him and the show. It must have been great to work with him, probably the last that he was able to do. It is so sad to hear about his death. My great aunt just died of Pancreatic cancer, and her sister died of it several years ago. It is such a painful thing to watch, knowing that they are suffering and even with the care of a nurse, it is just knowing that their days are numbered that makes it so hard. Prayers go out to his family.

Very sad. Seemed like a good human being and a charismatic actor. I have had more than three friends die of pancreatic cancer. There is no cure so far and Doctors say they do not know the cause.
I believe that pancreatic cancer is caused by the use of alcohol even in small amounts over a period of time. and there must be a defective gene that plays into the picture.
All of my friends who died were not alcoholics, just casual drinkers usually wine on a regular basis.
I hate the disease and although no one can bring Patrick or anyone back, I just hope
and pray that they will find the cause. Never mind the cure, just learn how to prevent it if possible
Perhaps tobacco plays a part too because all of my friends were regular smokers who had given it up years ago. Pray for discovery and a cure.
