Obama's Kanye 'Jackass' comment not officially 'off the record'

Yes, ABC News' Terry Moran jumped the gun a bit in Tweeting that President Barack Obama called Kanye West a "jackass," but it doesn't appear that he actually went so far as to defy a request that the comment be kept out of the media. TMZ has obtained and posted an audio file of the president comments. It's obvious that the comment was made while Obama was casually talking to reporters between official interviews, but he does not actually say that his reaction to Kanye West stealing Taylor Swift's moment at the VMAs is "off the record."
After he responds to a query about what he thought of the incident another reporter jokes, "Does that count as the first question?"
Obama has a couple false starts with "I'm assuming ..." but gets side-tracked and ultimately says, "Come on guys, cut the president some slack. I've a lot of other things on my plate," and then mentions the brief furor that arose when he killed a fly during a CNBC interview.

He may be the president, but it doesn't mean he can't be a normal person when being official isn't needed. I'm sure a lot of people agree with the comment so this crap shouldn't even be newsworthy. Pretty much all tmz puts out is crap, so it's expected. Is jackass even a bad word? Probably only if you are 5 or under, there's a lot of worse words out there we can use to describe Kanye lol

I don't have a problem with Obama's statement except that his comment was tame. I think Kanye's a DICK!
