New 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' trailer shows Freddy flame out
Are you ready... to feel sorry for Freddy?
One of the movie world's nastiest villains actually inspires some sympathy in the new trailer for Michael Bay's "A Nightmare on Elm Street" remake.
In the original, Freddy Krueger was a straightforward bad guy, a child molestor who was torched by the local parents when his conviction was overturned on a technicality. This time around, though, "Watchmen" star Jackie Earle Haley's performance seems to indicate he really wasn't guilty after all.
Could this be true? Is Freddy a spirit of vengeance rather than evil, in the Japanese horror tradition? And if so, where does the famous razor-fingered glove come from, if not created by Freddy while alive to kill his underage victims?

"Nightmare" begins April 30, 2010.

AWESOME! Haven't really read up on the remake, so didn't know who to expect in the cast. Nice to see Connie Britton, Kyle Gallner, and the smoking Katie Cassidy.
WOW!!!
Another remake. I can't wait.
Thank god this is going to be a straight forward horror movie. Freddy used to be scary and then he turned into the stand up comedian of horror.
Big disgruntled sigh at Michael Bay directing. He ruins everything he touches.
Uh, I don't think Michael Bay is directing this one. On IMDB the director is Samuel Bayer.
SGM: Can you read?? FROM PRODUCER MICHAEL BAY. Thats PRODUCER. Director is spelled differently...

Samuel Bayer? *saddenz*
agreed M.Bay turns good flicks into crap. the only remake that was ok was Friday the 13th,all the other remakes (halloweens, texas chainsaw, etc) just sucked and now we get to add nightmare to that growing list too. although atleast Freddy gets to kill Emo's & Preps in this one lol. just hope they didn't skrew up the storyline too much.
it really doesn't look that much different than the original.
what is the point of this remake? is it going to be scarier?
