Mischa Barton rambles about meltdown on 'The View'

Wearing a Zac Posen dress, Mischa Barton stopped by "The View" on Friday (Sept. 11) morning to promote her upcoming CW show "The Beautiful Life." Of course, first things first, everyone wanted to know the real story behind her being put under a psychiatric hold in July.In her husky smoker's voice, Barton tried to dismiss the incident, "I mean, really it was blown out of proportion, so it's kind of silly now to be talking about it because I'm so fine now, but it was really just a bad time for me," before going to say that a combination of over-working and a wisdom teeth extraction gone wrong were to blame.
Both Barbara Walters and Joy Behar refused to let it go though, demanding to know why physical pain -- no matter how extreme -- would land her under a psychiatric hold.
"When they take you into the hospital for something when it goes really wrong if you're having a meltdown and you say something like 'I feel like I want to die' they start injecting you with things to calm down," Barton said, implying this made everything worse since she's "petrified of needles."
The ladies finally let her off the hook and allowed her to talk about her upcoming CW show "The Beautiful Life" until Whoopi Goldberg, who had been silent for the rest of the interview, grew tired of it and jumped in to ask Barton about her two dogs, Ziggy Stardust and Charles Dickens.

a friend of mine works on the set of TBL, and she had a breakdown and was on a drug binge the day she was supposed to show up on set. She appearently was so drugged out of her mind she didnt know what she was doing and they had to commit her against her wishes
There always seems to be a comment with someone saying they "know someone who works on the set". My question is: how would someone who works on the set, get to know extremely personal info about Mischa?
that's pretty bad if she already has a husky smoker's voice at her age!!
My friend was an extra on The OC and had nothing positive to say about her. She was very unpopular with the crew. Mischa would come in without memorizing her lines, she was was always asking for retakes, and was always complaining about things like the food. Once he saw her arguing with the director and she said "I don't want to say my lines that way."
Her fans may not believe these stories but there are way too many to ignore. They couldn't all have been made up.
Here we go again! Maybe she was right and the director was wrong. They had some pretty poor direction, and they had numerous directors. She was one of the main reasons the show was a big success. And, maybe the food sucked!
The View hosts should have shown this video to Mischa and asked her about it. It's video taken a few weeks before she landed in the psych ward.

"husky smoker's voice"? No, that's just her normal voice - some people do have a voice that naturally sounds that way, as Mischa does (check out some of her early stuff and you'll see what I mean). And, as Meeshhead has said, whenever stuff like this surfaces, you always get someone crawling out of the woodwork saying, without any real proof, that "I worked with her" or "a friend of mine knows her", and claiming to have some sort of intimate inside knowledge. Well, to all of those people, I hope you're aware of the fact that any logical person usually completely ignores all of your comments, because we know how to differentiate between genuine facts and immature bull**** from hopeless wannabes!!!!.....

Mischa Barton needs to take care of her looks because that's the only thing she's got going for her. She's a middling actress and if she wasn't so darn pretty she wouldn't get hired. Hollywood is a small town and everybody knows who are the difficult, unprofessional actresses, so she better be careful about burning too many bridges.
I wonder what excuse meeshhead and adrian will come up for this. Another source that's crawling out of the woodwork? It's remarkable how similar this story is to other accounts of her behavior.

Mischa Barton isn't completely recovered from the wisdom-tooth misery that supposedly landed her in the loony bin last month. A source on the set of her CW show, "The Beautiful Life," says Barton shows up to work so bleary some days that it holds up filming. One day, says a source, "she was getting snippy with the director and kept demanding that someone make instant coffee for her. Often, she'll stare at the coffee for minutes at a time and say, 'Who will fix my coffee? I need someone to fix my coffee.' " A rep for Barton had no comment.
