Joss Whedon on 'Dr. Horrible,' 'Dollhouse,' his 'Battlestar' guests & Summer Glau

josswhedon.jpgJoss Whedon is the man.

He is worshiped by legions of "Buffy," "Angel" and "Firefly" fans -- and I'm sure he's fully aware of it -- But he walks around like he's just some regular dude with nothing special going on. I mean, he seems completely and totally unaffected by his die hard followers.

You'll catch a glimpse of that laid back demeanor in the clip below, but anyway, yeah, this is all off topic.

The topic today is the second season premiere of Joss' FOX drama "Dollhouse" which debuts this evening.

I spoke to Joss about the show's new lease on life, the "Battlestar Galactica" alum he's hired to guest star -- Jamie Bamber shows up in tonight's ep -- as well as Summer Glau, who is doing an arc on the series later this year.

Oh, and there's some "Dr. Horrible" stuff in there too.

So, without further ado, Mr. Whedon...

I love that Joss is so laid back. I think it's part of why he continues to be such a good writer - he really hasn't changed over the years, regardless of successes or failures. I'm very excited about Dollhouse tonight. And while it makes me laugh sometimes that Joss loves his work and actors so much that he uses them again and again, I don't mind one bit. I'll be happy to see Summer, for sure. And I hear that we'll see Alexis Denisof (Wesley from Buffy and Angel) this season too.

My thoughts...

Joss is a multi-faceted, true creative genius and a very genuine and humble individual (not that I know him personally, I just get that from watching/listening to his work and from interviews like this one!).

Korbi rocks and is posting some really great stuff about a wide range of new and returning shows...always a good thing. (Seriously, it's great to see stuff on ABC, Fox, and CBS shows too!)

Joss and Korbi can both get down on the dance floor (not that I know personally but you know...I've heard rumours!) ;)

Thanks for this zap2it and thanks Fox for bringing Dollhouse back!!

I love that Joss loves to use scarcasm (and does it well unlike a lot of people who utterly fail when they attempt to do so).

Only negative of interview to me was I wanted to know if he knew/was involved with the Dr. Horrible skit on the Emmys, as well as his thoughts on it.

Thanks for the interview Korbi, can't have been easy to be camerawoman and interviewer at the same time.

Nice work guys!
this is just Amazing!
Thanks

Nice work,Thanks!

Thanks for Joss interview!

Looking forward to seeing Denisof and Hogan in this season, both supremely talented actors, and looking forward to the increased arc too.

But Glau? I was hoping with the frankly boring TSCC biting the dust that we'd be done with this unconvincing mess, but it appears as long as Whedon's in work, so she's.

Ugh. Just awful.

The hackneyed pov that one of these people are "regular guys" needs to be dropped from any reporter's phrase list. They might be human---but if they were regular guys, you wouldn't be interviewing them. I admire his work, it's well above TV average. But I can tell he's a quirky, goof ball.
