Jon Gosselin wants to slow down divorce proceedings

jongosselin_290_001.jpgJon Gosselin may not be able to do anything about his removal from "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," but he's apparently had a change of heart about getting out of his marriage.

Gosselin has filed court papers in Pennsylvania that would suspend the divorce proceedings between he and his wife Kate for 90 days. He tells In Touch Weekly that he hopes the filing will "enable Kate and me to restore our relationship as cooperative parents and to open up our lines of communication."

"I hope that she will be as receptive and enthusiastic as I am to do what is best for our family," he adds.

The news comes only a couple hours after TLC announced Tuesday that it was relaunching its Gosselin family show as "Kate Plus Eight" and focusing more on Kate's life as a newly single mom to two sets of multiples. TLC did say Jon would make occasional appearances, but he won't be a regular part of the show anymore.

Jon Gosselin and his lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, tell In Touch that Jon has come to regret his actions over the past few months, with Heller saying "He ... looked in the mirror and didn't like the reflection." For his part, Jon says he regrets his conduct since the separation: "I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon."

What are your thoughts on Jon's actions? Do you find the timing a little, uh, convenient? Vote in the poll below and have your say in the comments.

his lawyer prolly told him "to man up!" he does not regret anything, cept having kids in his twenties ( rolling eyes)!
he is just prolonging it so he can try to get alimony now....good lawyer there!

Jon is as transparent as glass. As soon as he finds out he's being taken off the TV show all of a sudden he wants to delay the divorce proceedings. Kick him to the curb, Kate. You don't need him or his immature behavior. You already have 8 kids to deal with He is biggest baby ever. What a goof!

oh you gotta be kidding me?!!!!!!!! :(

is this guy fo' realz?

Funny how he only has a change of heart after TLC dumps his butt from the show! Poor guy! Mighty hard to support 8 kids, an apt in NYC, an expensive sports car and a couple of girlfriends without a JOB!

cool. this is just like the movie speed. if he isnt in the news for more than 30 mins, his head will explode.

I sincerely hope that court can see through his lame attempts at slowing the divorce and not grant the extension. Is this guy insane? Does he really think that ANYONE will believe he had a change of heart for his children's sake? Did he just now realize that the money will not flow forever?? No wonder Kate was constantly yelling at him. After 10 years of this type of stupid and self-centered behavior I am surprised the TLC series is not a 48 hours mystery trying to find out how Kate killed him and buried him in the backyard!!

UNBELIEVABLE! Please get these stupid people off the air and out of the limelight once and for all!!!!

If I had to guess, he's trying to slow it down so they're still married when Kate signs a new contract for the 2010 shows she's in talks with TLC about.

As he's losing his TV income, she's going to be making more money than him and he wants as big a piece as he can get

The only reason these kinds of reality shows are on the air is because there are no writers who can come up with a decent drama or comedy any more.
My reasoning is that we are in this 'reality show' predicament, because there are no more Communists. Communists used to infiltrate the movie and arts industries and we used to get some superb works of screenwriting out of them. They had something to say, usually somewhat subversive, but disguised into a very original and often times wonderful story.
Now, there is no more incentive to write, so we have reality shows, devoid of original ideas, they leave you wondering why you spent an hour or more in front of the TV.
Could we bring back Playhouse 90?

does he dislike himself because he actually dislikes himself or because he realizes that everyone who used to be on his side now are more or less disgusted with him.
