'House': E.P. David Shore talks change for our favorite cranky doc, plus 14, Cam & Chase
The "House" season premiere coming up next week? So un-House like. With all the series regulars besides Hugh Laurie -- and Robert Sean Leonard, who appears as Wilson in one very short scene -- absent from the two-hour episode which spans the several months that House spends in a mental facility, you're either going to love what the writer-producers have done or you're going to hate it.
And Cuddy fans who want to see Princeton-Plainsboro's fearless leader together with the cranky doctor should beware.
As has been rumored, House is indeed hooking up with the character played by guest star Franka Potente... and its pretty serious.
Like so serious that our guy might shed a few tears because of it.
Uh, yeah.
Not to worry, however. According to executive producer David Shore, House -- though he'll certainly attempt to change -- will end up being the same man he's always been in the end.
I spoke with Shore, as well as Robert Sean Leonard, Lisa Edelstein and Peter Jacobsen, recently and they all weighed in on the situation.
Shore is also spilling on Foreteen's current relationship, plus Cameron and Chase and how the two will figure back into the mainstream action this season...

I'm actually more interested in the House/Franka Potente character plotline than I've been in the House/Cuddy one, shoved down our throat past season so bring it on!
Let House have a little something something.. She'll be gone after the premiere. Cuddy is 'under his skin' That chemistry is not going anywhere and frankly I can't wait !
Sorry but it is the House/Cuddy, House/Wilson, and House/Cuddy/Wilson dynamic that draws a large number of viewers to the show. I'm willing to let this ep stand on it's own but without these three House is simply not House.
I'm also more interested into Franka Potente's character Lydia and House than Huddy, because that was plainly annoying. Can't wait for Cuddy to hook up with the PI, THAT will be GREAT!
I hate how some people seem to believe that this show is only about House/Wilson/Cuddy. Sorry but it is not!!! Go back and look what it was advertised for. A miserable doctor diagnosing weird diseases with his team (and Wilson as his best friend). THAT's what made the show successful!
Can't wait for the premiere, at least one episode without unbearable Huddy crap.

Right now I'm only excited to see Cameron and Chase back on the team, I missed them a lot! I couldn't care less for Huddy though, I'd be happy if they never bring that up again, so can't wait to see what will happen with Franka's character!

HUGH LAURIE is AMAZING and I love Wilson as well.
Looking forward to some House/Wilson scenes...they always crack me up...unless it's a sad scene...then it makes me sad.
Maybe Taub and 13 can go work at some other hospital?????
Thank goodness we get a break from Cuddy and that mess of a relationship. Also a break from Thirteen and Foreman.
Yay for House getting involved with someone else. And Cuddy is having a relationship with the PI. I hope they will be very happy together and will keep Huddy off my screen permanently. Shore dug himself into a hole with that one because at least as many people hate Huddy as love it.
Peter Jacobson is a hoot. I wish I liked Taub more.
House's hook-up with Franka Potente's character sounds interesting.
But what I'm really looking forward to is having Cameron and Chase back. I hope Shore is serious about it this time and not faking it like he was last season when she ran the hospital.
House/Cuddy, House/Wilson/Cuddy are the main reasons i watch House so I hope they will continue to interact. I love Huddy and can't wait to see what else the writers have in store for this couple.. The PI thing won't last long!
