CW wants more 'One Tree Hill,' 'Vampire Diaries,' 'Melrose Place'

Fans of The CW's "One Tree Hill" can rest easy. The show has received a full order for the season. Things are also looking promising for "Vampire Diaires" and cautiously optimistic for "Melrose Place."The network raised "One Tree Hill's" order from 13 episodes to a full 22 on Wednesday. At the same time, they picked up nine additional scripts for freshman drama "Vampire Diaries" and asked for six more "Melrose Place Scripts."
Neither the "One Tree Hill" nor the "Vampire Diaries" news is particularly surprising considering their solid early numbers. "Melrose Place" has not been an out-of-the-gate success, but the network has a lot invested in the "90210" companion piece and are hoping the addition of original cast member Heather Locklear to the mix come November will help turn things around.
CW has not ordered more episodes of their freshman drama, "The Beautiful Life: TBL." Yet. According to Variety, executives are waiting to see how its second episode fairs on Wednesday night opposite ABC's new comedies "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town," and new seasons of NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and CBS' "Criminal Minds."

ugh one tree hill is crap without leyton, at least peyton. last season sucked but it had peyton. i like melrose, and vamp diaries.
Melrose Place is a FAILURE no matter how you try to spin it... the ratings are absolutely pathetic. I was hoping they might try to give TBL a shot in the MP time slot and see how it does... guess that won't be happening.
And what about Gossip Girl? One Tree Hill gets a pick-up but GG does not??? WTF?

Melrose is promising and if we judged the original series (either this or the original Beverly Hills) on the first few episodes the shows would never have lasted. It took 90210 a while to hit its stride and the first season of Melrose Place is so squeaky-clean it's obnoxious. But once both shows found their footing, oh how good they got.
It's only a matter of time before TBL is cancelled. Glad that VD (heh) picked up some more script orders.
One Tree Hill is just not the same without Lucas and Peyton. They are still being referenced constatntly doesn't that prove they are a vital part of the show. CW needs to bring them back on the show, no matter what cost.
All those shows (including Gossip Girl) should be canceled immediately for lack of rating.
It's amazing how Dawn Ostroff has re-defined CW's audience down by so much that they'd even think of renewing again something like 90210 which is a total bomb.
