CBS picks up another 'Big Brother'
Improved ratings for the current season of "Big Brother" has resulted in CBS picking up the show for another year. The network announced Tuesday (Sept. 9) that it's ordering a 12th season of the series, which has shown some new life this summer after a couple seasons of ratings declines. "Big Brother 11" is averaging 7.1 million viewers this year, up from 6.6 million last summer and has also posted better numbers in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
"Big Brother" has also been big online. The network says it's the most-watched show on CBS.com and its affiliated sites, drawing 25 percent more users than last year.
The current "Big Brother" is down to its final three contestants (Jordan, Natalie and Kevin) and will conclude Tuesday, Sept. 15 with a two-hour finale. The 12th season will begin next summer.

Yay!
No more Natalies please. Beyond boring.
I have been a big brother fan for years. Im going to do my best to get in the big brother house next summer. Ive had applications the last two years and I believe this next year is it. This show should never end. You sit at home and play along but I want to send someone home. Play the game and hold court and see you next summer.
How do you get on Big Brother, been a fan for years...How do I get an application?
To make the game more challenging and stop the "backdooring" only those that play in the veto should be up for elimination. I think that would be an interesting twist to the game.
yeah, this show was fun until they didn't kick out Natalie--YUCK!!
this was Big Brother *11* for god's sake. so i don't think it was this year's ratings pop that resulted in it's renewal. because, then what about the other 10 previous renewals? how do you explain those? duh.
I would love to see an "America's Choice" eviction for one week in the middle of the season.
@duh. Perhaps their thinking was that if the ratings continued to show decline this year, then this would be the final year.
Someone at CBS refuses to listen to sage parental advice about not picking up hitchhikers or Big Brothers.
Go to CBS.com to download a application for the show. they should bring this show back during the winter as well as summer, like they did during the writer strike. They Should have had Pandora's Box earlier in the game.
