bettywhite_290.jpgNBC's "30 Rock" will welcome another multiple Emmy winner to its ranks this season -- former "Golden Girls" and "Mary Tyler Moore" star Betty White.

White, a four-time Emmy honoree, will play herself in an episode airing later in the fall, NBC confirms; the episode doesn't have an airdate yet. She joins a guest-star roster that has included the likes of Steve Martin, Elaine Stritch, Alan Alda, Tim Conway, Megan Mullally and Jennifer Aniston in the past couple seasons.

Alec Baldwin, who won his second Emmy for playing NBC exec Jack Donaghy on Sunday, told "Access Hollywood" after the show that White was the cast's first choice to make a guest appearance on "30 Rock."

"We all put names in a hat, and we took a vote -- if you could have one guest star for the whole season, who would it be?" he said. "And Betty White was the winner."

Creator-star Tina Fey has also said she'd like to book Meryl Streep for the show, as well as her co-presenter at Sunday's Emmys, Justin Timberlake. "We should track him down," Fey told "Access." "He'd be good. I'm sure he'd totally do it -- he's not busy."

The fourth season of "30 Rock" begins Thursday, Oct. 15.
