'American Idol' finalist Lakisha Jones gives birth to baby girl

"American Idol" fourth-place finisher from season six Lakisha Jones has given birth to her second child, Ava LaRynn.

Lakisha Jones and husband Larry Davis welcomed baby Ava LaRynn into the world Wednesday. The baby was due back in August so little Ava certainly took her sweet time arriving, but Lakisha twittered that "she was late but so worth the wait."

It's the first child for Jones and her new husband, financial adviser Larry Davis. The couple was married in October 2008 in front of fellow American Idol finalists Haley Scarnato, Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen and Sanjaya Malakar.

This is the second child for Lakisha, as she has a 6-year-old daughter named Brionne from a previous relationship. As to the gap between babies, Lakisha twittered that she was "At home getting back into baby mode, it's been 6yrs."

Congratulations to mom, dad, new big sister Brionne and little baby Ava.
