'A-Team' star Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson retires for acting career
Looks like it took "The A-Team" top stop a rampage.
Mixed martials arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson confirmed Tuesday on his password-protected Web site that he'll be playing B.A. Baracus in the upcoming "A-Team" movie. That job, he wrote, led him to retire from fighting.
Also a factor, Jackson wrote, is the potential for injury as a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship series.
"My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting ... So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way."
Jackson has had small roles in a number of movies, including "The Midnight Meat Train," and made cameo appearances on television series "The Ultimate Fighter" and "The King of Queens."
"The A-Team" also stars Liam Neeson as team leader "Hannibal" Smith, Bradley Cooper as "Faceman" Peck, Sharlto Copley as "Howlin' Mad" Murdock and Jessica Biel as Peck's former lover.

Way to undercut the ratings and buy rate for The Ultimate Fighter on SpikeTV and the subsequent Pay-Per-View, respectively. I know it was taped a couple months ago, but the current TUF (#10, heavyweights) is just airing now. The payoff has always been that after the TUF Finale Live, the coaches would fight at the very next PPV. So much for Rampage vs Rashad.
"The Ultimate Fighter" isn't a series is a competition show. He didn't make a "cameo" he is a trainer on the current season, he also trained two seasons back as well.
I definitely respect any fighter who has the sense to say, "My body's taken about as much punishment as it can safely handle." He definitely has the right look for the part.
The part of BA, I mean
he has been in 31+ fights in his career, he knows what he is doing and how his body will react to any more fights. i would say he has proven himself and i hope that one day he comes back, but until then, howlllllllll
