'Wolfman' trailer: Benicio Del Toro gets hairy(er)

Wolfman_03  Considering the vampire overkill we've been experiencing in past months, we're more than ready for some shapeshifter love.

Here's a look at Benicio Del Toro in his most inspired casting, "The Wolfman."

His haircut isn't the best, but we guess he's going all period or something. Seriously though, we're pretty excited that the werewolf mythology is getting the proper treatment this time around.

Our favorite line is Anthony Hopkins telling Del Toro's character: "You've done terrible things." And we pretty much always love Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt.

"The Wolfman" is in theaters on Feb. 12 -- just in time for Valentine's Day!

Take a look:

What do you think? Do you prefer vampires or werewolves?

Trailer looks great and Benicio del Toro in his pre-Wolfman state definitely looks the part. However, his flat 21st-century American accent stands out, and not in a good way, in a cast of British accents. (Yeah, I know that Hugo Weaving is an Aussie but he can do the posh Brit accent.)

Too bad Robert Downey Jr wasn't available for this movie. He's the only other actor I can think of that could pull it off successfully.

The trailer looks great, but it still concerns me how long this film has been sitting on the shelf. I guess we'll find out on Feb. 12!

Re the comment about Benicio del Toro's American accent... it's not out of character. The Lawrence Talbot character in both this film (and the 1941 original) has been living in America most of his life, and returns to England when his brother is killed... both are referenced in the trailer. As to whether the character sounds too modern... No he doesn't talk like a character in a ****ens novel. But this is a werewolf movie fer chrissakes, not Masterpiece Theatre. ;) As for the trailer, the much-argued-about CG touches don't look as bad as I feared, and the film remains promising.

i believe the movie is going to be very successful..and Benicio was a good pick
