TCA Press Tour: Live blogging the 'Glee' panel

Leamichele_glee_290 We're here to live blog the "Glee" panel for you.

1:42 p.m.- Promo reel.

1:43- Cast and crew is announced to applause.

1:44- "She knows what she wants and she knows what she loves"- Lea Michele (Rachel) on her character.

1:45- Sometimes a song will inspire an episode, but generally the songs come afterward. It would be too hard to center episodes just around a certain song, says co-creator Brad Falchuk.

1:46- This show is no "High School Musical," Brad says. The show is edgier, but you can still watch with your family.

1:47- Is the show too good for TV? Brad says sometimes things find a niche audience, but he thinks "Glee" will find a broad audience.

1:48- Co-creator Ryan Murphy is MIA because he's off shooting a movie with Julia Roberts. I guess that's a good enoughexcuse. Brad calls him the brain behind the show. Brad says Ryan is "very, very involved."

1:51- Cory says in the beginning of the show, it was taking weeks to learn the dance numbers. By the end, it was only taking days. Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) likes that they are doing a musical and TV show at the same time.

1:52- Dante says creatively they have gotten every song they've wanted. For their budget, instead of smashing cars and blowing up buildings, "Glee" is using the money for singing and dancing.

1:54- "I am acting in the role of a lifetime," Jane Lynch (Sue) says. She calls the things she has to say the "best heinous things."

1:56- "I do walk," Kevin McHale (Artie) cracks on the differences between him and his character. Though he does call it torture being unable to dance in the musical numbers.

1:58- Lea says the cast is so happy with the reception the pilot episode got, as well as their iTunes sales. She notes the reaction at Comic-Con was notable for them because they had been living in a little "Glee" bubble, since shooting just ended.

Dianna Agron (Quinn) says that yesterday she got recognized on the plane after the guy next to her saw a "Glee" ad, which she found bizarre

2:00- A critic asks Jane why she goes towards the scheming roles. "I guess I'm attracted to that on some level," Jane says.

2:03- Having someone handicapped was important to the "Glee" producers so everyone would have the chance to see themselves in these kids.

2:05- They're hoping the first soundtrack will come out in November, and if it does well, the second will be released in December. They've produced over 60 songs so far so the material for soundtracks is there.

2:06- A critic wants to know how close the actors are in age to real high schoolers. We didn't actually get a real answer. Though this panel is so huge, some haven't even had the chance to speak yet.

2:07- The cast is asked to talk about their high school experiences as the final question. "I definitely did have the "Glee"-k in me," Jenna says, of her high school choir days.

And with that, the panel ends.
