summerglau_alexisdenisof_290.jpgIt's a Whedonverse reunion on "Dollhouse."

Summer Glau and Alexis Denisof, both of Joss Whedon series fame, and Michael Hogan are joining the group of big names visiting second season of FOX's "Dollhouse." They join the recently announced guest stars Keith Carradine and Jamie Bamber.

But let's get back to the Whedonverse characters, shall we?

Glau will join the cast of "Dollhouse" as recurring character Bennett, "a Dollhouse employee who shares a past with Echo (Eliza Dushku)." Since we haven't seen Glau previously, it's possible her character had been working previously at one of the other Dollhouses out there before coming to the one we know and love.

Glau, known most recently for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," had starred in Whedon's beloved sci-fi western series "Firefly" and its big-screen follow-up "Serenity."

As if that little Whedon reunion weren't enough, Alexis Denisof, who appeared on Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" before moving on to become a regular castmember on its spinoff "Angel," will make a guest appearance as Sen. Daniel Perrin, who's on a witch hunt to expose the Dollhouse. Hmm, perhaps Paul (Tahmoh Penikett) won't be all alone in his endeavors this season. That always seemed a little fruitless.

Glau and Denisof join the growing list of former Whedon series stars who've reunited with the man himself on "Dollhouse." Others include series star Eliza Dushku, Amy Acker, Alan Tudyk and Felicia Day (who was only seen in "Epitaph One," the 13th episode from Season One that wasn't aired).

Also, this season Michael Hogan of "Battlestar Galactica" fame will play Bradley Karrens, a man who seeks the Dollhouse's help to stop a family member's psychotic killing spree. Hogan's fellow "BSG" castmate Jamie Bamber was inadvertently revealed to be a guest star Wednesday when FOX made photos of the first episode available to press. Bamber will play businessman Martin Klar, who is Echo's new husband. We really wish FOX would tell us more than that!

Finally, as previously reported, Keith Carradine will come on as businessman Matthew Harding, a "nemesis" of Dollhouse chief Adelle (Olivia Williams). A FOX publicist had already told Zap2it that Harding is also somehow involved with Sierra's history, which makes us wonder if Adelle and Sierra knew each other in their previous, non-Dollhouse lives.

Besides the main cast, FOX also announced that Amy Acker's character Dr. Claire Saunders/Whiskey and Miracle Laurie's character Madeline/November will return for multiple-episode arcs.

"Dollhouse" debuts its second season on Friday, Sept. 25.

So, those "T:SCC" fans out there, now are you excited?

Can Summer live without Joss?

Summer Glau was one of the greatest characters with one of the greatest abilities on "The 4400" and that had nothing to do with Whedon. ("4400" was the show about normal people getting superpowers that was light years better than "Heroes" because it actually had an awesome plot)

So suck it Dave.

Totally excited!! With a Friday night spot Fox doesn't seem to be giving much hope to this series and yet, these cast additions give me hope Dollhouse will last more than this season. If all of Joss' fans are there for it, maybe we'll have the numbers...

Oh didn't catch that BHM. Thought he was referring to the remainder of the summer reruns. Summer is an AMAZING actress, totally agree. She was the best reason to watch Sarah Conner Chronicles.

YES! Whedon was brilliant to scoop up these delicious actors/actresses and hopefully pull some of their fan-base over to Dollhouse.

Can't wait for the BSG/Firefly/Buffy/Angel reunion!!

I am so jazzed about Joss Whedon bringing Summer Glau and Alexis Denisoff to "Doll House" this fall. Hanh Nguyen might not have been around for "Buffy The Vampire Slayer,"but we who awaited every episode, enjoyed the actors who breathed life into their characters. Now if Whedon could talk Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon and Anthony Head to make guest appearances, he'd have all of the original cast featured. For all the Whedon and "Buffy" fans, that would be a huge treat.

Hey Keith,

Actually, I was around for "Buffy" and loved it. I was only addressing "T:SCC" fans in particular because they've been upset about it being canceled while "Dollhouse" was still on.

"Hush" is perhaps one of my favorite episodes from "Buffy" ever. Of course, "The Body," "Once More With Feeling" and so many more are also favorites!

I could care less about Denisof, sorry but I hated Wesley, however I am ecstatic to hear that Summer will be on Dollhouse. It sounds like Joss will be pulling out all of the stops for Season 2, I look forward to it.

Whedon has always had an incredible fanbase and cult following but he is a highly underated writer/director. He is far more creative then some of the more mainstream hot shots. Just think about some of those characters he created. Bones would have not been ever picked up for multiple seasons if it werent for Angel fans. Whedon creates unforgettable characters and in turn brings out the humanity in the actors that really connect with the viewers. So no matter what or where the actors go from his projects they take that with them and for us thats a great thing. You also have to give credit to someone who brings those actors back who he made so popular and also gives back to the fans. I look forward to many projects and interesting characters to come.

I'm starting to feel as though Dollhouse is an island, like the island of lost toys. And people go there to never be seen from again. If only that were true. Whedon is talented. Extremely talented. Why he chooses to spend his time on this obsequeous fluff when he has collected such a talented cast of actors I will never know. He can't need money that badly. I think we should all get together and have a telethon to find Joss a decent pilot. I'm sure after the last writers strike that there are hugely talented script writers willing to work for food. Come on people, there's a great cast!
