Report: Chris Brown to make televised apology to Rihanna
Chris Brown is scheduled to be sentenced for assaulting Rihanna next week, and he wants to take to the airwaves to talk about the case right afterward.
That, at least, is the word from Radar Online, which is reporting that Brown's handlers are angling for an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" the night of Wednesday, Aug. 5, after his sentencing. Brown wants to offer his story on the case, and his team thinks King might go a little easier on him than others would, the site says.
Brown pleaded guilty in June to a felony assault charge. He's likely to receive six months of community service and five years probation at his sentencing on Wednesday. He'll also have to attend domestic violence counseling.
The 20-year-old singer was arrested Feb. 8 -- the night of the Grammy Awards -- after fighting with Rihanna, who was left with heavy bruising on her face.
Brown issued a formal apology for what he called "the incident" via his web site on July 20. "I saw firsthand what uncontrolled rage can do," he said in the video message. "I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occurred in February can never happen again."

I think most of his fans already got over that part of his career, and I personally, see this as unnecessary
Yes, Armando, you're right. Let's just sweep this under the rug. It's just a little ***ault, no big deal. As long as YOU see it as unnecessary, then I guess we should just forgo the apology.
Idiot.
It is unnecessary, because it won't be sincere. He just wants to salvage whats left of his career.
I doubt he gives a damn about truly apologizing to her, if he did he'd call her and not try to get a show with Larry King to apologize to us. In his poorly acted apology he released a while ago, he didn't even really apologize, he just defended himself.
I believe hes dead to most of us.
Didnt Rhianna already take him back? He's not doing this apology for her, he's doing it for his own selfish reasons.
Sam, that was a rumor.
I think his apology was a bunch of crap. I don't care if your famous or not, you still don't hit a woman.
yah he should apolizgive but whats done is done and istill listen to his music
"He just wants to salvage whats left of his career."
What career? I mean, who is this guy? I'd never heard of him before he beat up his girlfriend.
he was mostly a guy a label was trying to promote (he always seemed to be around for the awards shows). no big loss there.
