Neil Flynn says he'll return to 'Scrubs'
Neil Flynn has a new job on ABC, playing a character who's named in the first episode, but he's not necessarily done with "Scrubs."
Flynn, who stars in the network's new comedy "The Middle," said Saturday (Aug. 8) at the Television Critics Association press tour that "there's a good chance" he'll make a return appearance on "Scrubs" this season. Nothing's been finalized yet, but Flynn said he would likely don the Janitor's coveralls one more time as "Scrubs" transitions to its new, post-what-we-all-thought-was-a-series-finale life.
"Scrubs" is scheduled to return to ABC in late fall, with several regulars (including Donald Faison and John C. McGinley) moving from Sacred Heart to a medical school. Zach Braff is slated to appear in six episodes, and Flynn says he's game to come back as well -- though he's also happy to be on "The Middle," a family comedy in which he plays the relatively calm husband to Patricia Heaton's harried wife and mom.
"I'm very glad to be here. Isn't that what I'm supposed to say?" he joked at the TCA panel. He also says he's quite pleased that his character has a name -- Mike, for the record -- from the get-go.

This Scrubs 'spin-off' is continuing to make my stomach uneasy...
Another sit-com about a middle-cl*** family, I give it 6 weeks.
I agree with Alex, but maybe that means it will open up his schedule to go back to Scrubs full time
Good luck brother in law. I am very proud of you. Dave
Joke's on you, Alex. The show is hilarious. And shocker, it managed to do so without any junior high sexual humor, imagine that!
