'Lost': Reader appreciation week

Terryoquinn_lost_290 We're going to put the "Lost" theories aside this week, boys and girls. I have something different in mind. That something? Reader appreciation.

That's right, it's time to devote a week to paying off the long- and not-so-longtime readers that make this site what it is: one of the most dynamic places to talk about "Lost" on Al Gore's internet. You've helped make this a special part of the "Lost" online universe: while there are hundreds if not thousands of blogs dedicated to the show, you've made the time to come visit this one. And for that, I thank you sincerely.

Over the past two years, you've helped spread the word and make this site so big that the powers that be at Zap2It allow me to write in the off-season. This decision says much more about you that me; while I'm sure they like me just fine, they know that if I write it, you will come. It's like "Field of Dreams" with less corn fields and more smoke monsters.

With that in mind, stay tuned this week for two firsts for the blog. I'm pretty excited about both. The first involves the first ever meet-up for the site, and the second involves our first contest. I have high hopes for both, and I hope you will as well once you have all the details. And yes, I'm making you wait for the details. But it will be worth the wait, I hope.

So make sure you spread the world via email, Twitter, or just telling random strangers in the supermarket. Big things are coming, and they are all for you, the readers.

Ryan invites you to join the hundreds already in Zap2It's Guide to Lost Facebook group.

SWEEEET!

I've been coming here for a year and a half, and I have to say that this is THE BEST LOST Blog on the interwebs. The analysis is always insightful, and the commenters here are, for the most part, courteous. I just wonder what we will all do once the show is over. Honestly, I don't want to even think about life A.L. (after LOST). It's scary out there in the real world. :)

2 best things about this site: Intelligent, thoughtful writing (if not just right outlandish in its theories sometimes :-) and No Spoilers!!!!

Quick question: do you think in 30 years losties will end up like those trekkies where William Shatner, frustrated at their geeky questions in a Sa****ay Night Live skit, finally shouts "People! Get a Life!"?

Yeah, we're a pretty cool bunch.

Cool! Big shiny prizes.

I'm really good at contests, I win the UK lottery at least 3 times a week!

Sounds a lot better than reader DEPRECIATION week...

Can't wait!!

I'll have to break out my floating Ryans-Head T-Shirt and a stack of pancakes topped with my favorite breakfast condiment. If you're a real reader, you'll know what that is.

yay, nice to be appreciated :)

Can't wait!! You and Erika are the BEST!

Props to you, too, Ryan. I echo TMFT's thought that I truly appreciate that this site is spoiler free.

Spoilers are like being addicted to a drug. I used in Seasons 3 and 4 and stayed clean in Season 5, which was much more exciting because I watched with a clearer head and a fresh perspective. I've even gone back and apologized to those I've hurt by p***ing on the spoilers I've read.

Thanks for being my Spoilers Anonymous (SA) sponsor Ryan!
