Who needs Paula Abdul?
Peter Rice, Chairman of FOX Broadcasting, confirmed Thursday that Victoria "Posh" Beckham will be a guest judge on the next season of "American Idol," along with "I Kissed a Girl" singer Katy Perry.
We repeat though, Beckham and Perry will be guest judges. Paula hasn't been replaced ... yet.
Rice says that their hope was that Abdul would come back and they currently have no contingencies or plans for any of the guest judges to become a permanent fixture on the panel.
For that role, they are looking to cast a "different energy" before January.

Why can't the U.S. figure out a way to get these Loser Beckhams out of this country! This ugly no-talented POS should not be judging a competition that they themselves couldn't even make it p*** the first round in.
If this one ever actually smiled, all the church steeple across the country would tumble down.
Why do they think we care about the Beckhams? They need to "bend" themselves back over to England.

enough with this stupid POSH ****e. she has no talent to speak of and is not qualified to be a judge! she's not even good enough to be a contestant. all she has is a famous hubby. we're over you both!! PLEASE go back to England!!

Why do they need a fourth judge? They went how many seasons with only three before they brought a fourth? Why not just let Kara fill in her spot and leave it at that.
For the record, I don't care much for this show anymore (actually, for a while now). But bringing Katy Perry (an awful songwriter with some of the most annoying hit songs) and Posh ****e does nothing for this show but make things worse. I wouldn't mind seeing a huge ratings drop.

Katy Perry looks almost just like Zooey Deschanel.
I'll say this AGAIN... they don't need to find a replacement for Paula, they already HAVE one... Kara. 4 judges is too many. I thought they learned that this year when they kept running out of time. 3 is all they need. Keep it at just Simon, Randy and Kara. Leave it AS IS. Anyone else agree?
Can we not yet realize, youngsters, that this entire program is a woefully overglorified version of Star Search?
As to Paula Abdul vs. Victoria Beckham vs. Katy Perry, they all seem equally talented and have had very, very similar careers: a big splash that ended (and will likely end in Perry's case) rather quickly.
Or, in other words, they're perfect for this job, where the contestants are about as untalented as they were/are, and will likely flame out just as quickly, if not even more quickly.
