'Gossip Girl': Chuck Bass goes gay for one kiss only

"Gossip Girl" the TV show strayed from "Gossip Girl" the books way back in Season One. Especially when it comes to Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick).While out Chuck is both repellent and irresistibly attractive, in the books he's more the person that everyone includes because they have to, not because deep down part of them wants to.
Also, in the books, Chuck's overtly heterosexual sex drive in the early books turns out to be a cover-up for his actual same-sex tendencies. Hey, there's even a flirtation with Dan Humphrey at one point.
Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, TV Chuck will get to play in his own team's sandbox -- at the instigation of girlfriend Blair (Leighton Meester), of course -- this season when he shares a kiss with guest star Neal Bledsoe.
Now, if they'll just let TV Chuck get a pet monkey named Sweetie like Book Chuck has.
Come on, everybody loves monkeys.

Why wasn't Neil Patrick Harris brought in to guest star for this spot. Perfect fit. And, he seems to be showing up everywhere else
I can see Chuck using and bedding anyone to get something he wants. He being seen with a surrounded by multiple girls on the TV show makes this revelation seem logical.
So the hype starts. Front page articles about a show that essentially nobody watches...

Seriously if Chuck is gay them I'm definately out. It sounds a bit dramatic but with season 2 heavily focused on Serena and barely anyone else. I would feel no need to watch season 3. I love Chair they are the cutest couple and their have been no lasting couples that have been seen on the show. I know that Chuck is gay in the books - he even got together with dan's (experimental)ex but him and Blair are perfect together. Why the hell split them up?

I know that he's bisexual in the books, but still, it would be weird.
Not that I have anything against bisexuals or gaypeople.
If they wanted to make him anything but straight, they should have done it in the first season. He's with Blair now.
If it happens to be more than a kiss, i'm gonna stop watching, it would be too painful.
