'Friday Night Lights' signs two new recruits
East Dillon High is having varsity football tryouts as we speak, but we're already hearing of a couple early favorites.
NBC confirms that Matt Lauria -- whom you may remember as Lindsay Price's assistant on "Lipstick Jungle" -- will join the "Friday Night Lights" team as Luke, a cute but over-confident junior who doesn't really want to play for Dillon's second fiddle team.
Michael B. Jordan ("The Wire") will take on the role of Vince, Luke's teammate and nemesis with a rough upbringing and a checkered past.
Lauria and Jordan are just a couple of the new actors being cast to fill the void of Dillon's graduated seniors, played by Zach Gilford, Minka Kelly and Adrianne Palicki.
Don't worry though, pretty sure Tim Riggins is staying put in the big D.
"Friday Night Lights"' new season will premiere on DirecTV this October.

I thought Riggins was headed off to San Antonio to go to college. Is he going to be back on the show in some capacity?
I'm going to miss those 3 wonderful young actors but am so glad that Friday Night Lights has students graduating and leaving like they would in real life. I'm glad Tim Riggins will be on the show. I'm guessing he is staying behind to help his brother out. Can't wait for the new season. I am so glad I have DirectTV so I can watch it in October!
