chrisbrown_290.jpgDespite apparently claiming on "Larry King Live" to have forgotten allegedly assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown now says he does remember the events of that night.

In a statement to People ahead of Wednesday's "King" broadcast, Brown appears to be doing some pre-emptive damage control by saying his memory lapse was a slip of the tongue after being asked about the details multiple times.

Well, sort of.

"Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything," Brown says in the statement. "But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can't believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before."

A blur, eh?

Despite the semantics, Brown does use the statement to express his remorse: "As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can't. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am, and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future."

Brown was sentenced in late August to five years' probation, six months of "labor-oriented" community service and domestic violence counseling.

hmmm, should be pretty hard to prove it was an isolated incident considering he's done it before... good luck!

You want this kid to fail soo bad! He won't. He'll emerge a much better person to your dismay. He has admitted to and accepted responsibility probably more than you have in your life. Good Luck Chris!

I think he a damn lie

remember when this website was about tv, the good old days...

Ya, well the only reason he apologized is because he has to or else he will have no career. If he was not a celebrity, then he more than likely would have not apologized. Its pretty obvious - Celebrities all apologized publicly for actions that Non-Celebrities do all the time & never apologize for. Like Dohhhh We know your really not sorry~ & the only reason your saying you are is to save your As* & career

It is funny how he is still not being a real man about this.... just take responsibility for your actions and move on. This isn't the publicity that you want right now.

I think Chris Brown is insane. Or maybe he has a multiple personalities.

No, insanity could be fixed with therapy and medication. Chris Brown is just stupid, and as the saying goes, "Ya can't fix stupid."

I think Chris Brown is a criminal. Pure drek. Lowest of the low. Can't believe he said he didn't remember. Jen's take right here is perfect. Guy needs to be hung.

he was barely a celebrity to begin with. he was just someone the record companies/MTV was trying to jam down our throats, his main career was being trotted out in awards shows for gods sake! not even worth much before all this, so now he should just go away. but he believed his own hype that the public actually cares (which it doesn't), that's why he keeps talking. most ppl don't even really know who this guy is.
