'America's Next Top Model': What's wrong with this picture?
TwitterWe've seen some bad Photoshop in our day, and we're sure "America's Next Top Model's" Tyra Banks has as well. Which makes the following all the more shameful.
A couple of weeks ago Miss Tyra Twitpic-ed the photo below, heralding it as "Here are my lovely ANTM petite girls. 1st time any1 has seen anything."

Oh, if that's the case, this season is already shaping up poorly.
Now, we're not designers, but we know a few. And one was even more than happy to tell us exactly why we felt this picture was so "off." Oh, and we should note that "these are just the most egregious and obvious examples of errors, laziness and sloppiness in the image."
1. Same bikini string, same hand, same model. For variation, they changed her sandals to black on her clone in the back.
2. Same hand, same model. The bracelet was removed in the rear version, though it appears to have left a tan line.
3. Mystery model hand! It's just kind of floating there, unattached to a model.
4. Odd lump behind the knee. She should have that looked at.
5. There are a lot of bad fake shadows throughout the image, most of which violate basic lighting and 3-dimensional space. This amateurishly-applied one is just awful. It appears to connect the calves at the bottom.
6. This entire leg is just wrong, from its color and tone to the crisp-edged shadows up the shin and thigh. We're not quite sure what that mess is behind her foot other than remnants from cutting and pasting. Also, her legs appear to be two different skin colors. Does that count as diversity?
7. Whatever seems to be afflicting the front model behind her knee may be contagious. This model has an even bigger mystery bulge behind her calf.
8. How could this be the same model as the one on the far left? This one has open-toed platforms on! With, uh, semi-transparent soles. We don't know why the partially-obscured shoe on the left appears to be an inch higher. Maybe that's the fashion.
9. As if there weren't enough clues that this image was faked, the white edge around the heel of the black pump is telltale bad Photoshop.
10. Tyra should be concerned about this model's weight because apparently it's less than zero, enabling her to float just above the ground. Of course, this could make for some creative posing and give her an edge in certain challenges. Her clone in the back of the pack doesn't have the same issue.

Great post! #4 looks like a tumor and #7 looks like the result of some serious steroid use.
If you ask me, the entire lineup has some darn ugly knees. I'm a guy, and I don't see one single leg among those skinny minions that appeals to me even one iota.

It's not the fact that Hollywood, the magazine industry et. al. retouch, and fake images; it's that this one is so bad and was p***ed off as a behind the scenes look. The average teenager with an illegally downloaded copy of Photoshop could create a more convincing fake than this one. Even worse: It was perpetrated by someone who is a fashion industry pro, model, and photographer who should be able to discriminate between a good image and crap. It's pathetic.
