'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 13: Meet Laura Kirkpatrick, Kentucky farm girl

Thanks to the "America's Next Top Model" casting promos, we already know that 5'6 waitress Laura Kirkpatrick from Stanford, Kentucky knows how to castrate a bull.
Now, courtesy of a pre-show interview conducted by a local Kentucky paper of show-approved questions, we've also learned that she was raised on a farm and describes her life growing up as "semi-hard" due to her dyslexia and having a mother largely absent because of a career in the Navy. Making for an even better story, she and her mother bought a Cadillac for $200 so that she could travel to Chicago for the "Top Model" auditions.

About life on the farm: "I love the farm; it's very peaceful. I work so hard some days that I hate the work and I want to pack up and sell it all, but then a little baby calf is born or my belly is full from the corn and beans I just picked and it makes it all worth it."
On the "ANTM" audition process: "I remember there was so many beautiful girls that I thought should have been models, and I can still see them peel off their number and hang their head and walk out."
How she feels she represented where she's from on the show: "They loved my accent; they called it the gentleman's language because they said Kentucky people where so kind. Being a southern girl you know I'm proud of my God."
What it was like to return home after taping was finished: "My mom, dad, sister and little brother were all waiting for me, and my grandmom had a good ol' country meal waiting for me, and shortly after my dad put me back to work on the farm."
The biggest culture clash between Stanford and L.A.: "I think the biggest shock was the food; L.A doesn't have any gravy and biscuits."
"America's Next Top Model" Cycle 13 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

I happen to have known Laura and she is a very beautiful, incredibly nice, sweet young lady. The picture above does not really do her true beauty justice. I just hope that she is not (or has been) taken advantage of as she pursues her modeling ambitions

Y'all do know that Esquire Magazine recently voted Kentucky the most stylish state - Hands down and BY FAR. There are a lot of good looking people from Kentucky such as Johnny Depp, Ashley Judd, George Clooney, and a ton of others.
Laura is hot, and seems very honest - she's definitely the hottest one on that show.
Go Laura...she is the perfect role model for young girls. I hope she wins!!!!
