Universal scores movie rights to video game Asteroids
They're massive. They're relentless. And they never... ever... stop.
Get ready to rock: Universal Studios has won a bidding war to the rights for Atari's 1979 arcade game Asteroids, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There's not much to tell, plot-wise: The player pilots a triangular spaceship around the screen, shooting asteroids which break into progressively smaller pieces. Oh, and occasionally a UFO will appear to try and shoot down the player's ship.
Universal has been snatching up rights to a number of seemingly plot-light properties, most notably Battleship and "Where's Waldo?" Projects are also being developed around Candy Land, Ouija Board and Monopoly.

What's next, Pacman the movie? Lol, I'd rather play my Alliance character and chat with my guildmates than to watch this movie.
