'Twilight': Bryce Dallas Howard to 'Eclipse' Rachelle Lefevre

When it comes to the "Twilight" books, "Eclipse" is really the one where the flame-haired vampire Victoria gets to shine, what with creating a rabid vampire army to go after Bella and the Cullens for killing her lover James and all.
Too bad Rachelle Lefevre, who's played Victoria in "Twilight" and the upcoming "New Moon," won't get to sink her teeth into the the really meaty part of the role.
The actress will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for "Eclipse," Summit Entertainment announced on Tuesday (July 28).
Lefevre is committed to begin shooting the indie drama "Barney's Version" with Dustin Hoffman on Monday, Aug. 17 in Quebec, which happens to be the same production start date as "Eclipse" in Vancouver.
Sucks for her.

Hmmm. Not too sure how to feel about this. I feel like Howard would have been a beter fit from the start (never really bought Lefevre in this role) but I really hate when series change out actors/actresses part of the way through.
Not the best plan, swapping red heads isn't a good plan.. filming conflicts can always be resolved....
You'd think a big production like this would have locked up actor contracts throughout the whole series...
Yeah, it seems like there must be something that could´ve been done to keep the original actress, because swapping midway is a bit amateuristic. However, I do like Bryce in that part!

Rachelle Lefevre is one of my biggest Hollywood crushes so I am disappointed to see that she isn't getting this exposure any longer.
I think Summit Entertainment was wrong in replacing Rachel Lefevre. She did a great job, and her look and voice is great for the role. Scheduling conflict is weak. Summit Entertainment should have worked with her to keep her in the franchise. I hope Summit Entertainment bought out her contract. I'm not sold that Bryce Dallas Howard can fill the role.
