'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' hits $300 million mark
Despite critical drubbing, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has reached the coveted $300 million mark.
Questions about the film's plot and rumored racist undertones -- which translated into a dismal 19 percent rating at Rotten Tomatoes -- didn't stop worldwide audiences from flocking to the film.

The film got off to a strong start, pulling in $60.6 million in the U.S. and Canada on its June 24 opening. That swamped the previous Wednesday record holder ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," $44.2 million) and the previous non-Friday-opening record holder ("Spider-Man 3," which opened on a Saturday, $51.3 million).
The movie stars Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf as humans caught up in an evil robot's plan to destroy the sun.

Megan Fox sure knows how to open a movie, you go GRRRRRRL!
Of course, absent from a ll the coverage is the fact that those box-office figures are self-reported by the studios and there is no way to find out if they're real.
The pattern has been that all those "blockbusters" fail to make an impact on the bottom line (like last year's Dark Knight did not help Warner's profits one iota).
Look at it this way. They probably end up at least making their money back and especially in this economy they employ a lot of people. I enjoyed the movie and I got what I expected, a lot of noisy changing robots. Who would go to a movie like this expecting art? It was pure escapism. I think people go see silly movies like this for a break from real life.
i can't believe it made that much
i thought for sure people would have demanded there money back after watching it
i would have but i didn't end up paying
