News roundup: 'T.J. Hooker' rides again; 'Predators' find leader
William Shatner has the magic touch these days. Sort of.
After the success of J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek," from which the actor was conspicuously absent, another Shatner property is headed for the big screen: Cop show "T.J. Hooker" will get the cinematic treatment, according to Variety.

No details yet on casting, but word is the plot will focus on Hooker's relationship with his father. We smell a role for Shatner...
The ABC television series, which ran from 1982 to 1986, followed Shatner's detective, who demotes himself to teach rookies the best way to fight crime (and leap over the hood of a patrol car).
-- Other remakes are in the news: In this case, the Robert Rodriguez "Predators" project has a director.
Nimrod Antal has been targeted to helm the reboot of the killer alien series, according to Variety.
The 1987 "Predator" pitted Arnold Schwarzenegger against an extraterrestrial hunter. Rodriguez' proposed title hints he sees the new film as akin to James Cameron's 1986 "Aliens," which propelled that series to Hollywood icon status.
Antal's latest, "Armored," hits theaters in December.

Hey Hollywood!
Stop remaking crap.
Think of something new.
Not Another Remake!
Please. Don't. Do. It.
For me, Shatner has been way over exposed. He needs to retreat for a few years.
Predator doesn't need a reboot!
Well, I guess the time has finally come for a movie treatement of all those Vagisil cream commercials now. Can't get much lower than a remake of T.J. Hooker.
TJ Hooker wasn't even that popular when it was on the air.
