Ryan Reynolds cast as 'Green Lantern'
Ryan Reynolds will need superhuman strength: He'll be carrying two super-franchises.
Reynolds, who has been talking up a Deadpool series spun off from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," has been chosen to play DC Comics' Green Lantern.

Warner Bros. extended the offer after screen tests earlier this week with Reynolds, "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper and singer Justin Timberlake, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
THR points out the role would make Reynolds the first actor to play both Marvel (Deadpool) and DC comic-book characters.
Hal Jordan, a test pilot recruited into the interstellar Green Lantern Corps of peacekeepers, will be a good fit for Reynolds, whose comedic roles often contain a serious undercurrent.

But lets not forget the first actress to play both Marvel and DC: Halley Berry as Storm (Marvel) and Catwoman (DC)

That may be technically correct, although I'm pretty sure Cyclops already lays claim to being the first to appear in both a DC and Marvel film, ***uming his Superman Returns character never appeared in the comics.

When I first read it was down to those three, my only thought was either choice would be fine as long as it isn't Timberlake. So, yeah, I agree with Alex.
I hope the Green Lantern costume consists of Ryan getting naked!
The only thing that could make this better was if Ryan was playing the later year GL Kyle Rayner and Nathan Fillion was playing Hal Jordon.
However I think they are going with Hal only the last I read, which is a total miscast. Ryan is much better suited for Kyle.
The great thing about launching a GL series is that they can miscast the lead every few movies as there have been several GL's on Earth over the years.
Reynolds is the latest one in a now long series of OK actors that Hollywood is trying to force-feed to the public as a real star...

The world must be comming to an end if I'm agreeing with Rena but he's the flavor of the month. GL is a weak character unless he's with the Justice League. Its going to be "Dare Devil" all over again.
