Ratings: Good opening numbers for 'Warehouse 13,' '10 Things'
A pair of new cable series opened to pretty decent numbers on Tuesday night.
The much-derided name change of the Sci Fi Channel to SyFy didn't stop people from tuning into the premiere of "Warehouse 13." The show, about a pair of Secret Service agents assigned to a facility that holds the government's repository of supernatural relics, drew 3.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched show on cable Tuesday night.
ABC Family didn't get as big an audience for its comedy "10 Things I Hate About You" -- it drew 1.6 million viewers. But that qualifies as the best debut for an original comedy series in the channel's history. It also did very well among the young women who are the channel's core audience.
Movies vs. TV: '10 Things I Hate About You'
"Warehouse 13" currently stands as the No. 3 series premiere in SyFy/Sci Fi history, trailing only "Stargate Atlantis" (4.2 million viewers) and "Eureka" (4.1 million). DVR viewing could push the premiere even closer to the top.
The show stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as the Secret Service agents who are reassigned to the South Dakota warehouse and Saul Rubinek as its caretaker.
The "10 Things" premiere had its biggest success among young women. It was Tuesday' No. 1 show, broadcast or cable, among female teenagers, and it was the top scripted show in primetime among women 18-34. The half-hour series is based on the 1999 movie of the same name and stars Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin and Larry Miller.

ratings for 10 things will drop. I watched it and it was horrible. The movie was much better
Loved Warehouse 13. '10 Things' was ok, would be better as an hour show.
I didn't expect 10 Things to be worth much - but it was very good. If they can make all episodes this good, I'll be happy to tune in every week. Really good young cast!
I didn't care for Warehouse 13. The male lead is okay. If the female lead is the one from 7th Heaven - I never cared for her on that show either. Glad to hear it topped the ratings.
SciFi should not have switched to SyFy.

Thank you, SyFy/SciFi. I'm not a "reality" fan AT ALL (although The Amazing Race is awesome), so I'm always looking for just good shows with humor, action, and drama. Warehouse 13 was very good and will be on my watch list each week, along with Eureka, of course. Didn't even watch 10 Things because those types of shows are below reality shows in my book. Not a big fan of the SyFy name change either, but it's just a name, so I'll still watch their shows.
What's the old saying; stupid is as stupid does? Describes Warehouse 13 to a "T." I kept waiting throughout the two hours for it to get better, but it never did. I won't waste my time watching it again.
I really, really wanted to like Warehouse 13. The premise is fantasic. The problem is I think even I could have written a better script. That said, I'm going to give it another try and right the pilot off as "trying too hard" to please every demographic and pray that once that was sold to the network they were able to work on finding a working tempo.
I thought Warehouse 13 was the best on SYFY (ugh!) since Eureka. More good series, less cheap, badly acted movies are what the channel needs.
I liked "10 Things ...", but it would be much better if it were an hour show. I thought it was going to be and was very surprised when after 30 minutes it was over.
I have vowed never to watch any Sci-Fi series because of the way they cancelled FARSCAPE.
