Rachelle Lefevre says she was cast out of 'Twilight: Eclipse'

Rachelle_290 According to actress Rachelle Lefevre the scheduling conflict Summit Entertainment cited for replacing her with Bryce Dallas Howard in the third "Twilight" movie -- "Eclipse" -- is just an excuse.

Lefevre's representative released the following statement from the actress to media outlets on Wednesday (July 29):

"I was stunned by Summit's decision to recast the role of Victoria for "Eclipse." I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to "Barney's Version" is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for "Eclipse." Although the production schedule for "Eclipse" is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for "Eclipse," never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part. I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I've received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit's surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of "Eclipse" only the very best."

I don't know who this girl is, but I like Bryce Dallas Howard. Perhaps the recasting was to help bring in people to the films who don't give a **** normally about the book and film franchise. It is because of this dreck that there is a Buffy remake being talked about.

well i don't know why they would think casting Opie's kid in the movie would help improve the grosses of this franchise since she isn't a draw herself. Although I think Bryce is pretty hot, i don't think she's an upgrade from this chick and seems like she would cost more too.

Time will tell if this is a bad move. Summit Entertainment did Rachelle wrong. I'm not sold on Bryce Dallas Howard fitting into this role.

very well said! i think wat she's saying is true. :)

I was looking forward the original Victoria, Eclipse is about Victoria and her quest for revenge, Sequels respond better to the original characters and sometimes bad decisions like this one, hopefully doesn't hurt Eclipse, I am a huge FAN and awaiting for June 30, please do not ruin this DAVID SLADE.

Summit Entertainment in my opinion made a bad move by replacing Rachelle, Eclipse is about victoria's revenge!! why change to Bryce, no offense, but i can definitely tell when an actor has been replaced, this will not go well. hope there isn't any other replacements then i won't go see it. Twilight made it BIG because of the characters, the school the realization, keep this in mind.
