Peter Jackson: 'Hobbit' script coming in 3-4 weeks
Peter Jackson would like to put "The Hobbit" casting rumors to rest.
New casting for the highly anticipated two-part project based on the J.R.R. Tolkein book won't happen for at least a few weeks to a month.

"We're about three or four weeks away from delivering the draft of the first movie to the studio," Jackson tells the Comic-Con audience for "District 9," a sci-fi thriller he's producing directed by Neill Blomkamp.
"We're not even greenlit yet," adds Jackson. "You could drop Warner Bros. a line and encourage them to be kind to us. We haven't gotten to the stage to offer anyone a role yet. Obviously actors will want to read a script."
