'Parenthood's' Maura Tierney talks about her health

Actress Maura Tierney says a tumor in her breast is what sidelined her from NBC's new show "Parenthood" and will keep the show on the bench until midseason.
"I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery," the former "ER" and "NewsRadio"says in a statement. She adds that she won't know a specific diagnosis until after the tumor is removed, but she hopes to be back at work relatively quickly.
"My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition. I'm very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon."
News broke on Friday that Tierney would have to take an eight-week leave from "Parenthood" to deal with an undisclosed medical condition. Since she is one of the leads in the family drama (a remake of the 1989 movie) that revolves around four adult siblings, the show decided to shut down production while she is undergoing treatment.
The medical show "Mercy," which centers on a group of nurses, will take "Parenthood's" place on the fall schedule.

Maura, God's angles will watch over you and help you through this time in your life. This only a smal set back and there will be better times a head. God never gives more then we can handle, his always there for support. A fan for life.

I hope she's okay and I wish her well. I have really enjoyed watching her in NewsRadio and ER as well as the movies she has been in... "Is that chocolate or poop?". I am still looking forward to Parenthood and I hope she is feeling better very soon.
Actually, I don't believe that was the real Rena Moretti who posted that comment. Rena tends to be a little more...verbose than that. :D
I hope she will be okay. I have always liked her, Abby was one of my favorite characters on ER. Can't believe some think this is for ratings! Think it's great they are halting production and waiting for her, that says a lot about Maura.
