No more 'Party' time for Jane Lynch
The "Party" is over for the ever-busy Jane Lynch.
Lynch will be a regular on FOX's new series "Glee" in the fall, and as a consequence she's had to part ways with the Starz comedy "Party Down." Starz was hoping that "Glee's" schedule would let Lynch moonlight a little, but that didn't pan out.
"It looks like I can't do the second season," Lynch tells Variety. "So I'm not happy about that all ... but I'm in 'Glee,' so I'm thrilled about that."
Lynch missed the last couple episodes of "Party Down's" first season while filming the pilot for "Glee." Jennifer Coolidge guest-starred in her place, but there's no word yet on whether she could become a more permanent replacement for Lynch.
The second season of "Party Down," about a group of wannabe and never-really-were actors working as cater-waiters in Los Angeles, is likely to premiere next spring.

"Glee" looks like it'll be a hit.
If Coolidge can't fill the void left by Lynch, then what about considering Amy Sedaris? She has great comic timing and a deadpan delivery. She would be a great addition to the Party Down team!
I hope they replace jen cooldige. She was awful in the last episodes of season 1.
Jennifer Coolidge finally found her place on TV. The last two episodes with her instead of Jane Lynch showed that Lynch, regrettably, could be replaced. Both were given hillarious material and both were exceptional.
I feel bad for people who like Jane Lynch because whereas her "Glee" character just seems like a stock role - *****y coach in high school drama - her character on "Party Down" was something quite awesome. Hopefully she is doing well with the Armenians.
Is Lizzy Caplan coming back?
Jennifer Coolidge is normally a lot of fun, but I agree that her character didn't really work on Party Down. She was too broad and kooky, and Party Down works because it normally has a bit of restraint built into its characters. I do hope Lizzy Caplan returns, as well as all the other regulars. Ken Marino and Ryan Hansen are hysterical.
whoever suggested replacing Lynch with Amy Sedaris is a genius. I think that's the only way this loss could become a win.
