Craigolejnik_thelistener_290 NBC has turned a deaf ear to "The Listener."

According to the trades, the network has decided to pull the last five episodes of "The Listener" from its schedule and replacing it with "Law & Order" repeats starting July 30. Ouch.

Fans devoted to the Canadian import, however, will be able catch those final five episodes on NBC.com in August.

The drama about a telepathic paramedic has been pulling in disappointing ratings, and on Thursday a new episode only drew a 2.6 rating/5 share up against a repeat of CBS' "The Mentalist" (5.6/10).

In other NBC news, the network has picked up the 13-episode drama "Persons Unknown," starring Jason Wiles and Daisy Betts.

The series centers on a group of strangers who must work together to escape a deserted town they woke up in that's under constant surveillance by security cameras.

This was a great show I thought. Luckily for us Canadians, CTV will air the remaining of the episodes.

The best decision NBC ever made, it was such a boring and slow show..

I enjoyed it and will miss it. I have decided that no one wants quality television.

I'm to the point that I won't start watching new programs. Everytime I start getting into a series after 4 or 5 eppisodes they cancel it. I think I will stick with HBO and Showtime and TNT at least they stick to their shows and they are also quality programs.

Total bummer I really liked this show.

As a Canadian, I am embarr***ed by that piece of garbage. Terrible, terrible show. Shame on you CTV.

Wow, I didn't know anything was on Thursday nights other than Harper's Island. Live and learn.

Not the best show in the world but hardly the worst either. Certainly more worthwhile than another time-slot filled with another Law & Order re-run. That's why God created the USA Network. Have to agree with Louisa's point ... it's getting to where you won't even bother giving new programs a try because, if you blind, their gone. With each p***ing season, network TV becomes more of a joke.

More Law and Order- Geez! No wonder most tv sets in America turn past the NBC stations. When they get their hands on a decent program they immediately seek to run it into the ground by airing it 24/7 across all their stations. Their fall lineup with basically consist of The Jay Leno Show and various versions of Law & Order. Pathetic.

"Pathetic" is right!
