Mischa Barton's rep denies suicide attempt

Mischabarton_lafashion_290 Mischa Barton is in New York shooting "The Beautiful Life," but if reports are to be believed, she almost didn't have any life at all.

"Sources" tell E! Online that the former "O.C." star's recent stay at a hospital was due to "suicidal" actions, which may have stemmed from The CW no longer wanting her for "The Beautiful Life."

Uh, not so fast with that story.

"Absolutely false," says Barton's rep, "your source is far from knowledgeable, as nothing they've told you is true, inclusive of the suicide attempt.

"She was never fired and rehired, but has had the role of Sonja [in The Beautiful Life] all along," adds the rep. "The network and studio have been supportive of Mischa's casting and subsequent recovery all along."

Hmm, well, this is sad, whether it's true or not. We just want her to continue shooting and we'll see for ourselves if her performance has been affected. Can't wait!

Irregardless of her and her drama (I do feel sorry for her having to do all this in the public eye) this show will be canceled by December. We've already got "Grey's Anatomy" to keep us entertained with cast dramas offscreen, we really don't need another.

What kind of crap are you printing, and calling it journalism? "Sources?" What, are you using a magic 8-Ball? "My sources say yes."

Come freakin' ON. Stop trying to ruin people's lives and reputations by even putting this utter nonsense in print. What kind of 3rd-rate, amateurish so-called "writers" are you allowing to publish complete lies and made-up trash??

THIS IS UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE AND UNFORGIVABLE. I truly wonder why The CW makes any materials available to you at all. You are the furthest thing from credible journalists.

This article is quoting E! Online's sources, Mr. Jonah, and saying that they have been discredited. Please READ and put your thinking cap on before you make stupid, angry comments.

kellek, first of all, who cares about cast drama? (just let's see how is the show) second, "irregardless" is not a word. it's just "regardless."

I don't care who zap2it is "quoting." I agree, it's irresponsible for both E! and this site to go on a feeding frenzy, spreading such a potentially-damaging and totally unsubstantiated rumor.

When crazy headlines like that appear blazoned on a website, it really doesn't matter that the intention was to, ahem...discredit the other guys. And knowing Korbi's relationship with E!, I really doubt that was the intent. Media folks these days just love to spew certain buzzwords, like SUICIDE! AFFAIR! CHEATING! INCEST! OVERDOSE!

What has this world come to?

Oh, I see, so you would rather just let the E! story lie as is, and not have any other sites publish her rep's denial of the story. sure, makes perfect sense.

Did any of you blasting this site for furthering the rumor even bother to read this post? It DOES include the rep's denial. In the headline and the whole second half of the story. Sheesh.

bishop, "irregardless" *IS* a word! A fully valid word. If you're going to be a snarky smart alec, you should actually know what you're talking about.

@Jonah: Drama queen, much?
