UPDATE: Mischa Barton's 'Beautiful Life' future is 'contingent'

Mischa_290 Last week we were worried about whether or not Mischa Barton was going to be able to get rid of her recent bout of bloat in time to play an aging -- yet still working -- model on The CW's new fall series "The Beautiful Life: TBL."

Now, we're just hoping she can pull it together before her next project is a movie that can only get pick-up from ABC Family (*cough, cough* Lindsay Lohan *cough, cough* "Labor Pains").

Mischa Barton: Life in Pictures

Following on the heels of "Access Hollywood's" revelation earlier Thursday that the actress has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold after police officers were summoned to her house on Wednesday afternoon, The CW is declining comment on whether or not this affects her employment status.

What the network will say is that production on the series begins next week in New York and the show will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 16 as planned.

Zap2it suggest 19 possible Mischa Barton replacements

Whether or not the first few episodes will work around Barton or whether some other young honey -- there's plenty of them out there -- will step into the role remains to be seen.

UPDATE: In an email to the Los Angeles Times, Barton's rep, Craig Schneider, says that the actress' work on The CW show "will ultimately be contingent upon her progress and doctor's orders."

Who do you think could fill her shoes?

I'm not sure this headline is right... unless we're missing information. "Still on" implies that the producers or network said that she is still on the program... all this article says is that they are "declining to comment" about the situation. Am I missing something? Or is this just REALLY sloppy journalism?

Well, they aren't re-filming the pilot and she's in that. And they haven't said she's off the shows, so until they say she is being cut she is "still on." Kind of how you're "still married" even if you've filed for divorce.

But hold it, the network never said they wouldn't refilm the pilot. They just said "no comment." How do you know that "production on the series begins next week" = "we're not reshooting the pilot?"

This whole article is speculative.

The better headline:
CW: No comment on Barton's status on "Life" after psychiatric hold

Who wrote the headline for this article on the front page? Borat?

I think YO MOMMA wrote the headline JeffO not Borat. Are you for real about the article being speculative. It's confirming and sourcing what is already know and reported. "No comment" leaves the writer only the option of speculation. They presented both sides. JeffO Get a (beautiful) life!

"No comment" means that the headline at first shouldn't have been she's still on the show. Or an article shouldn't have been written. I think the headline now is fine, since there's actual news to report. A writer shouldn't say something as wrong as she's "still on" the show, when nobody has said that.

That said, this headline is now fine on the front of zap2it: Mischa Barton's health puts model future in jeopardy
That's accurate. "Still on" wasn't.

I got a mop in my closet, if i stand it upside down we have a close match for Mischa, about the same personality too, and an added bonus is the mop is also wooden

Wow, speaking of a ***** slap...

If it's canceled, maybe Body Politic will get the go-ahead!!!!!!
