Harpers_island There are only two episodes left of "Harper's Island." Who do you like for the killer?

The last two episodes are being shown as a two-hour finale next week, so for the week off, I thought we'd look back at the best moments from the show so far and discuss the possible theories floating around.

Top 3 Episodes
Honorable Mention: Whap (pilot)

The pilot really was a decent episode; it started off with a pretty gruesome death and it ended with a pretty surprising one. Also, it introduced all the major players and relationships in a fairly fluid way. I certainly think the show got better in the later episodes, but as far as pilots go, it was strong. Also, it's unfortunate the show went from the Pilot to 4 episodes of crap because the show lost viewers like rats abandoning a ship. I still maintain that if episodes 2-5 had been more like episodes 6-11, the show would've done light years better.

3. Sploosh (episode six)
Sploosh marks the episode when the show finally gets back on track. Daddy Wellington is dead, everyone is freaking out. We get the return of Abby's "Ave Maria" phone calls, I love the Sheriff interviewing everyone for alibis and Madison being all creepsville about lying to him. Finally, there's the hilarious subplot of Cal and Chloe getting his ring back, which really solidified their characters to me and made Splash as poignant as it was.

2. Splash (episode eleven)
I honestly didn't think this show could get to me like it did. Sure, it was uber-annoying that nobody could shoot Wakefield, but overlooking that (which I can do, that's a staple of scary movies), I think it was an excellent episode. It had some incredibly tense moments (No, don't stab Danny in the face!) and some really touching moments. If you can get me crying on several occasions, you've put together a good episode.

1. Seep (episode nine)
I still think Seep is the scariest of all the episodes. The whole looking-for-Beth thing had me literally on the edge of my seat, it was so creepy. Cut in half to leave two blood trails? Ugh. Abby getting trapped, getting grabbed in the tunnels and almost dragged backwards, and then finding Madison in that little room? Totally scary. Plus, it's also the episode Shane gets the beat-down he so richly deserves (remember, he wasn't a hero yet).

Top 3 Scares
3. Splash

Danny leaning towards the door. I thought giant-knife-to-the-eye was a certainty. Very tense.

2. Thwack
The whole ending is fantastic. The wedding rehearsal (with "Here Comes the Bride" in the background) is juxtaposed with the Sheriff dragging body parts out of the pond (with creepy music in the background). There's a shot of the head spade in the chandelier, the tension builds, and then THWACK! Excellent job.

1. Seep
The looking-for-Beth stretch is the scariest the show has managed, in my opinion.

Top 3 Lines
3. Sploosh

Cal: I heard the good news. Felicitations! There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just jump right in. The ring you found belongs to me. I lost it a few days ago on the beach. I sense your skepticism. 'Prove it!' you may say. 'Gladly!' I retort. First of all, the diamond is 1.5 carats. Second, the color rating is an H, which you might not know means it's virtually colorless. And finally the clarity rating is a VVS1. It's an impressive statistic that any jeweler could verify, so... I'm not getting my ring back, am I?

2. Splash
Chloe: You can't have me.

1. Snap
Wakefield: You look just like your mother.

Top 3 Theories
I think we can all agree, after the last episode, that Wakefield is one of the killers. Is he the only one? He better not be. If this show revealed Wakefield-as-killer in episode 10/11 and that's it? I'm going to be severely disappointed. So let's pretend that's not even a possibility and let's look at his possible accomplices. Just to clarify, there's no rule that says Wakefield only has one kid running around the island. The diary said, "Sarah had my child," which could mean that Sarah had some child (Henry, Sully, Jimmy) and gave it away, then had Abby with Sheriff Mills, or it could mean that Wakefield already had a kid and Sarah had Abby and raised her as Sheriff Mills' daughter.

3. Henry
This is a popular theory. Henry could be Wakefield's kid and Abby's half-brother. Maybe Sarah (Abby's mom) gave him as a baby to his parents and after their deaths he found out he was Wakefield's kid and something snapped. Or maybe something was always wrong and he killed his parents. Who knows? But we've definitely seen a darker, temper-filled side of Henry in little glimpses here and there.

2. Sully
This theory is totally growing on me. Sully's had a thing for Chloe since the get-go. Who is the first person Wakefield kidnaps and doesn't kill (who isn't a little girl)? Chloe. Was he keeping her safe for Sully? Also, as far as looks go, I'd buy that Sully is Wakefield's kid, whether by Sarah or not.

1. Jimmy
This is only number one because it's my theory and I'm stickin' too it. I don't think it's any better or worse than any other theories and, in fact, since the show left us hanging last episode thinking Jimmy's a bad guy, it'll probably turn out to be wrong. However, as I said in the recap, I don't trust the show to pull the rope-a-dope like that. I think the Suspicious Jimmy stuff could be just that: Jimmy is a bad guy. I like my original theory that Jimmy is Wakefield's son and Abby is Wakefield/Sarah's daughter and he's her half brother. That would also work if Abby is Sheriff Mills/Sarah's kid and Jimmy is the child Sarah had by Wakefield. Either way, I like the half-sibling theory because it adds an extra helping of psychological distress for our intrepid heroine.

I also think Wakefield "sparing" Jimmy and Jimmy's behavior in the flashbacks still make him looking totally suspicious, so that's my theory.

The last two episodes are called "Gasp" and "Sigh." Any bets as to who dies and how? Thanks for reading, guys! I hope you've enjoyed "Harper's Island" as much as I have. Check out our "Harper's Island" death gallery and be sure to leave your theories and contributions in the comments.

What hasn't been answered yet? I know, there's the "big" questions and all, but I'm talking about the smaller things.

First, what's with the music that Abby kept hearing on her phone? Is that significant?

Also, why did Madison lie about her dad's alibi? What was he hiding?

Is there anything important about Henry's cuts? After J.D. dies, Henry goes back to the Candlewick and there's some comment about the marks on his arm, which he just shrugs off.

i really think strongly that jimmy and abby arent siblings, or else when they were going camping why wouldn't sarah keep abby from camping together, she knew what was going on. the other question i have is if jimmy is a killer, does that mean he has to be wakefields, kid cant he just be a little wacko too

My theory is that it's Booth. Anyone who has read the book or seen the movie "And Then There Were None" knows that there is a fake death who turns out to be the killer and Booth "accidentally killed himself?" Probably wrong but this would sure be a twist.

Jimmy just seems too obvious a choice at this point. They're revealing TOO much about him, which makes it seem that they want us to think it's him.

Personally, I'm rooting for Madison to be the other killer.

The producer has gone on record and said that dead people are dead. It's not Booth and I'm not spoiling anything b/c the producer's Twittering is pretty common knowledge.

Nick, Sarah didn't necessarily know. Jimmy could be Wakefield's kid independent of Sarah and Abby could be Sarah and Wakefield's kid, making them half-sibs with Wakefield as their dad, not Sarah as their mom.

What if Abby is really Wakefield's daughter, and Jimmy is actually the Sheriff's son. That would explain why the Sheriff has a file on Jimmy, why they became friends after Abby left, and why the Sheriff made a deal to have Wakefield save/spare Jimmy's life. This would also allow Abby and Jimmy to end up together in the end, especially if someone else is Wakefield's accomplice, like Henry or even Trish. Either Henry or Trish chose the island for their wedding, and they could have done it to set the whole story in motion.

yeah, I was thinking of the "Ten Little Indians" plot too where the killer is someone who you thought was already killed off. If Jimmy and Abby are siblings that would be pretty creepy, greek tragedy style.

My guess is Henry. The skeet shooting sceen with the father-in-law in Episode 1 shows he can shoot. He would have easily been able to hit Wakefeild if he tried. I think he is Abby's half brother and Wakefield's son. In this theory Abby must also be Wakefield's daughter for her to matter so much. Jimmy being Abby's sister is too creepy and someone would have stopped it when they were kids. The wedding would be the best way to get Abby to the island and Henry would have arranged that. I also like the "10 Little Indian's" idea with Booth being the most likely but my money is on Henry. Sully shouldn't be the killer or else why would he save Cal. Great show, too bad they likely won't do another.

Jimmy absolutely CANNOT be blood relative to Abby! It has been implied several times that they have slept together. That would be WAY too disgusting. Henry or Jimmy being the accomplice is way too obvious. This show has gone a long way to be brilliant to just cheese out like that.

My bet for the next deaths include Trish and Danny..

Personally I think that it is interesting that Lucy's name is still available in the CBS pick a victim game....wonder why that is...she is the only one who supposedly died but isn't listed as dead on the website...hmmm....I don't think that CBS would go to the trouble of working us up about the Jimmy stuff for it to be him, but in the same token they can be making us think that they wouldn't tell us ahead of time so we will think of someone else...hmmm...the ultimate fakeout...can't wait to see what happens. Sad to know this show or the next version of it won't be back next year...
