'Desperate Housewives' welcomes Jesse Metcalfe back to Wisteria Lane

Jesse Metcalfe is actually coming back to Wisteria Lane.

Though the season one "Desperate Housewives" star supposedly filmed scenes for the show this spring and was rumored to be returning, May's finale flew by with nary a mention of Gaby's old gardener-boy.

But ABC now confirms that Metcalfe will reprise his role as John Rowland in the third and fourth episodes of the upcoming "DH" year.

We last saw John during season four, married to a rich, daddy's girl. "Housewives" creator Marc Cherry says the character is now divorced and doing well.

Well enough to catch the eye of Carlos' teenage niece, Ana (Maiara Walsh)?

Cherry told TV Guide this week, "When Ana finds out that Gabrielle had an affair with John, she sets her sights on him, which upsets Gabrielle."

Love it.
