Denzelwashington_pelham123_290  Denzel Washington's next foray into public transportation has been derailed.

Washington has officially exited the runaway train movie "Unstoppable," according to Variety. The "Taking of Pelham 123" actor was set to star alongside "Star Trek's" Chris Pine as engineers tasked with stopping a train full of deadly chemicals.

In late June, 20th Century Fox put the brakes on the project, citing budget concerns, among them the cost of the movie's two stars. Interestingly, Variety reports Denzel's pullout spurred Fox to extend the actor a new deal.
