Danny Huston crowned for Russell Crowe's 'Robin Hood'

Dannyhuston_xmenoriginswolverine_290 Robin Hood has found his king.

Danny Huston, who played a rather more malevolent authority figure in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," has signed on to play King Richard the Lionheart opposite Russell Crowe's bandit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the Robin Hood legends, the famous outlaw supports the king and works to thwart Richard's evil brother John, who seeks to take over England while the Lionheart is overseas fighting the Crusades.

Cate Blanchett and William Hurt have already signed on as Maid Marian and the Earl of Pembroke, respectively. Filming is under way for a May 14, 2010, release.

Huston played the evil Col. Stryker in "Wolverine."
