Casting Call: Peter Krause gets 'Beastly,' Virginia Madsen discovers 'Invention'

Peter Krause is about to get his hands dirty again.

The "Dirty Sexy Money" star has joined the cast of "Beastly" as a narcissistic feather to Alex Pettyfer's main character, according to Variety Maybe Krause is researching for his role on the television version of "Parenthood."

The "Beauty and the Beast" update has Pettyfer's spoiled rich kid cursed with horrific looks until he learns the true meaning of love.

The movie is set to open July 30, 2010.

-- Virginia Madsen, meanwhile, will play a bad wife in Kevin Spacey's independent comedy "Father of Invention," according to Variety.

In the film, Spacey's millionaire character goes to jail when an invention goes wrong. While in the pokey, Madsen spends all his money and files for divorce.

The movie is currently filming.
