Casting Call: 'Going the Distance,' 'Cloudburst'
Christina Applegate is rebounding from the cancellation of "Samantha Who?" with... another relationship comedy.
Applegate and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Charlie Day have joined the cast of "Going the Distance," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The plot follows Drew Barrymore and real-life boyfriend Justin Long trying to maintain a long-distance relationship.
Applegate will play Barrymore's sister, while Day acts as Long's best friend.
-- Olympia Dukakis is ready to hit the road.
Dukakis and Brenda Fricker will lead "Cloudburst," according to THR, wherein the two (a longtime couple) flee to Canada to get married. The pic is being billed as a comedy. Shooting begins later this month.
