Casting call: Alfre Woodard joins Alex O'Loughlin's 'Three Rivers'
The Alex O'Loughlin medical drama is pulling out the big guns.
CBS' "Three Rivers" has cast four-time Emmy winner Alfre Woodard as a lead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Woodard replaces Julia Ormond from the pilot, playing Sophia Jordan, head of surgery at Three Rivers Hospital. The show follows the drama of organ transplants from three points of view: the donors, the recipients and the doctors.
In other casting news, Heather Stephens will play one of the amateur detectives on the Christian Slater-starring mystery drama "The Forgotten" on ABC.
The series centers on a former cop (Slater) whose daughter has been kidnapped. Stephens will play Lindsay, whose husband has been imprisoned for an unknown crime and who must take care of her baby by herself.

Why was Rupert Penry-Jones replaced on "The Forgotten"? I'm VERY disappointed in that.
Alfre will give Three Rivers that Emmy caliber prestige and goodold fashioned acting that CBS needs, since thry trashed one of their best shows ever, Without A Trace.
Hooray for Alfre who should be better servedhere than Desperates Housewives and My Own Worst Enemy. PU!
I hate the hugely overrated Alfre Woodard, and the single concept of organ donation is going to get old quick. O'Laughlin's small cult following isn't enough to save this turkey from a quick cancellation.
I REALLY LIKE TURKEY.
Let's hope she doesn't stink up this show like she did Desperate Housewives!!
same here, i love Alex O. but i really don't think this new show sounds good. i don't want to watch a boring medical drama. and btw, i HATE Alfre Woodard (YUCK!!), so there is another reason not to watch (i won't be).
GET ALEX IN A GOOD SHOW!!!!!!!!
This is ironic because Three Rivers is airing opposite Desperate Housewives, which wasted Woodard's considerable talent a few seasons ago.
I think Three Rivers is going to be a fantastic show, I feel sorry for all the haters.I believe that Alfre Woodard is just what this show was missing.I wish I could be a fly on the wall of the homes of all the haters, when this show hits BIG!
Alfre is one that I like to just watch "act". I just get lost in her performances.
Agree with Katrina about Rupert Penry Jones. Very disappointed he won't be in Forgotten. RPJ is so much more watchable.
