Candy Spelling sends open letter to Tori via TMZ

Spellings_290 Candy Spelling, widow of Aaron, mother of Tori and Randy, definitely has a lot of issues with her daughter. And, as it turns out, Loni Anderson's portrayal of her on Tori's VH1 show "So NoTORIous" was exceptionally kind.

Candy has now taken her feud with Tori even-more-directly to the media via an open letter given exclusively to TMZ. She starts by referring to her 36-year-old daughter as "middle-aged" and it goes downhill from there.

Showing off that she learned a thing or two from husband Aaron, Candy uses one television analogy after another to drive home the point that she doesn't want to have their relationship play out on reality television. Although other forms of media like tell-all books, pointed interviews and entertainment web sites are perfectly acceptable.

Our favorite section of the letter:

"My husband taught me that the plots have to be fresh and updated. The same old whining gets tired after a while. Enough complaining about what may or may not have happened during first grade or YMCA camp, or what vegetable you were forced to endure, especially when you are privileged enough to be on TV and get paid for it."

Read the full letter on TMZ and stay tuned for Tori's reply.

I wish Aaron Spelling would come back from the grave and slap the creators of the new 90210 show for ****ing on what he created. Then when he's done, he can grab his two favorite ladies and take them down with him. Candy and Tori think we are stupid. They don't want their personal problems to be public, yet they keep bringing their problems to the public. Give me a damn break. At least story lines have someone you want to cheer for. I can't stand either one of these hags

JayDub, you are so right about the new 90210, the creator(s) of that crapfest need to be *****-slapped by the ghost of Aaron S. himself!!

Candy Spelling = Narcissist, plain and simple. Check out NPD.

I'm taking another route. I actually believe these two are manipulating the media & public for their own publicity, just like Jon & Kate, Trump & Martha, Trump & Rosie, ad nauseum.

Most of the public is far too stupid to realize this, however, believing that "reality TV" is just that.

However, how cool would it be to have Candy and Tori BOTH on 90210? Maybe have Candy patronize Tori's boutique as a rich witch?

Hug it out, girls. And stop playing us all for fools.

Wow, Matt, how insightful.

i don't think so Matt. you don't say publically that your daughter contributed to her father's death just to manipulate the media. that is true vitriol at work.

oh yeah--and they certainly don't need the $$.

Maybe I am in the minority here, but ever since So NoTORIus I have actually grown to like Tori Spelling! She's a lot more funny and enjoyable to watch than Donna Martin! I don't watch the new 90210 so I cannot comment on the show, but I have heard both good and bad...honestly though I am looking forward to watching Melrose Place! I liked the original and this one looks more interesting than I thought it would!

I think we can now see very clearly why Tori had issues with her in the first place. Candy Spelling--WORST MOM OF THE YEAR!! Too bad, but she can't buy love and respect that comes from being a good mom.

Candy, Candy, Candy...

You cannot dole out motherly advice with the disdain that comes from your thinking that you know better than everyone while, at the same time, pointing to the result of your mothering as a failure. It says more about you than about your daughter.

In fact, what it says about your daughter is that she had the maturity, intelligence and fortitude to run away from an obviously bad situation that she had no ability to make right! Tori seems to get that you cannot control what others do, but you can steer clear of those people. Candy, you seem to think that somehow your adult daughter needs to do what you tell her to do. How uncomfortable it must be for you to find out that is not true.

Good for Tori! Escaping manipulation takes guts. Especially when the financial loss is more than any non-lottery winners among us will ever know. Making sure her children are kept away from the manipulator shows the type of good parenting skills she didn't learn at home.

Nonetheless, thank you, Candy, for bringing your letter to the public. We can all use a good laugh. There's few things quite as funny as watching a control freak making orders that nobody follows.
