Baywatch_290 Just a day after we heard "T.J. Hooker" will get an action-comedy film treatment, word comes that the "Baywatch" movie will also bring the funny.

We know what you're thinking: Wasn't "Baywatch" always a comedy?

Turns out it wasn't funny enough: According to Variety, writer Jeremy Garelick has been brought in to punch up the script as well as direct. Garelick's most notable recent credit was as writer on the Jennifer Aniston-Vince Vaughn movie "The Break-Up."

"Baywatch" followed a group of Los Angeles lifeguards dealing with life in and out of the water.

-- "Saturday Night Live" character MacGruber, on the other hand, was always meant to be funny. The "MacGyver" homage is getting his own movie (as, humorously enough, is MacGyver), and according to ComingSoon, "Land of the Lost" star Jorma Taccone will direct.

Don't recognize the name? Taccone starred as missing link Cha-Ka. He was also a writer on the sex farce "Extreme Movie," if that tells you anything.
